Why I run a blog on pedagogical psychology in the first place

Trying to improve my lecturing skills and given my studies in PSY coupled with exchanging thoughts with fellow lectures, it become somewhat important to me to give it a (much) more scientific touch: Experience is, without any doubt, an important piece on one´s way to mastery, but too often it is clouded by own perceptions instead of objective truth.

Being a man of science, however, any analytical/academic/scientific approach is always my preferred choice. If for nothing else, it at least allows for a more elaborate discussion with fellow lecturers by speaking the same language and using well-defined and -understood words. Especially when the future of graduates is at stake, any hearsay of the wise and eldery seems insufficent if not inappropriate.

Given the above, I started to dig deeper into classical pedagogical psychology (on bachelor and master level). After a short while, I started to wonder whether any of my findings might be of interest or even helpful to others, too. Briefly, I thought about distributing something like a newsletter within the faculty or maybe, for a start only within the academic program I am responsible for. But soon, I considered a blog being a better means to both share own information and knowledge while at the same time offering a common platform for others to join in with their experience (or questions). Hence, I am herewith sharing my journey...
